Prince Creep cover @ Coachella 2008

So this is getting big hype. Apparently Prince was the high point of Coachella and he covered Creep by Radiohead that drove everyone into a frenzy. I just spent 20 minutes looking for this all over the place, but youtube is being difficult by taking the video down all over the place, so I found it on daily motion and I'm hosting it on megaupload.

It kinda picks up in the middle, the camera work is shaky but you can hear the audio from the Radiohead cover pretty well.

Hmm. I like it. It's very different but it's tough to hear him sing. The music follows the tune alright but... i dunno. It could have been much more.

Much more? Did you listen to the song? ITS PRINCE. He added a lot to that song, he was Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke at the same time. He also changed the lyrics to be "you're a creep" and made it more of a Prince style sermon, which was interesting.

I don't think I loved the cover, but any more added and it would need a full choir.

that rules. i hate prince's latest record, but he's becoming one of the greatest celebrities going around, and i'd give my right nut to see him live.

also, jungle love by morris day and the time!? sweet. did you guys read the lengthy pitchfork write-up of coachella? so many amazing bands, so little time... definitely heading out of my country to hit up some sweet festivals next year.

I dunno. I just didn't feel it. I guess my expectations were a bit too high.
